Frisby Lakes (Race Hub) Wild Swimming

Frisby Lakes is a family-run holiday park on Hoby Road, Asfordby, LE14 3TL, now a NOWCA open-water venue. 350m and 500m loops, walk-in entry, lifeguarded sessions. Free parking, toilets, changing, café. You go because Leicestershire has a bookable NOWCA lake in 100 acres of parkland, with a path around the water. You also go knowing Race Hub’s own website no longer sells the swim — it sells Wattbike hire from Sileby — and the 2026 product is Frisby Lakes on ACTiO.

Getting in

NOWCA membership, £20 a year on 2026 NOWCA copy, then book Frisby Lakes on ACTiO (venue 351) or NOWCA Wild (group: FRISBY LAKES). The session fee is not printed on the NOWCA venue page. The app is the tariff. Sign up on ACTiO or NOWCA Wild if you are not already in the network.

NOWCA’s launch hours, with a warning they vary: Monday 12:00–13:00, Thursday 11:00–12:00, Sunday 10:00–11:00, more sessions in summer. Check the app for the day you are actually travelling. An Around the Island Swim ran 4 July 2026 via ACTiO: about 800–900m, in the water by 10:45, tow floats compulsory, lifeguards on the water and the bank. That is an event, not the default loop.

Older Race Hub copy still tells you to put “Race Hub” in the satnav and enter by the Race Hub signs, not the lodge-park entrance. frisbylakes.co.uk was a “launching soon” stub. NOWCA is the live operator listing. Free on-site parking.

The swim

Two marked loops, 350m and 500m, as on the CSV stub and the NOWCA launch. Walk-in. Lifeguarded. Café for hot and cold food. Changing rooms and toilets. A walking path around the lake, about 30 minutes on the old Race Hub note. Paddlesports, fishing and camping sit on the same park; they are not your swim ticket. Book paddles separately if that is the hour you want.

Bright hat and a float are the usual NOWCA kit; the island-swim listing made the float compulsory. Confirm on the booking. Water quality is the venue’s job; NOWCA’s 25 August 2026 venue widget was live, which is how you know the pin was still in the network that week.

Worth knowing

Race Hub moved here from a previous Melton site. Discover Melton and PlaySport pages still read as if Race Hub run Gymcatch sessions year-round. Their racehub.uk homepage in 2026 is Wattbikes. The NOWCA announcement is the 2026 swim: Frisby Lakes joining the network, ACTiO, two loops. Use that, not the archived /swim_old/ page with 2017 NOWCA prices.
