ReWild Swim Club (Elmore Court) Wild Swimming

Spring-Fed Lake

ReWild Swim Club is Rewild Swim Club Ltd on the Elmore Court Estate: Madam’s Pond, also called the Bottomless Pool, a spring-fed lake ringed by old oaks. Changing yurt with a wood stove. Danish wood-fired mobile sauna. Deck, ladders, a walk across rewilding land. You go because Gloucestershire has a bookable estate lake that runs most of the year, with heat on the bank. You also go knowing there is no lifeguard, you may not swim alone, and if you are not 18 you are not in the water.

Getting in

Pre-book, at least 24 hours ahead on rewildswimclub.com. Inside 24 hours, email; they do not guarantee it. No walk-ins. Plans-and-pricing on the club site was empty in late August 2026 — the fee sits on the booking form, not as a published tariff. Cancel or move with 48 hours’ notice or they charge a £20 administration fee. More than 15 minutes late and they need not let you in. First session includes a welcome and an in-person induction. Watch the safety video. Health questionnaire and disclaimer before you arrive.

Rewild Things, the estate hospitality site, still lists communal swim-and-sauna twice a week: Wednesday 08:00–09:00 and Saturday 09:00–10:00, 12 spaces. Private exclusive-use 90 minutes, Monday to Saturday, groups of 2–12, prices on email. The club’s own page lists a weekly two-hour wellness session, exclusive-use at three hours, and seasonal events. Session length is capped at three hours in the terms. Maximum 20 in the swim, 12 in the sauna. Book the named people only; you cannot lend the slot.

The swim

Spring-fed, water tested periodically. They will close the lake if it is not suitable. Competent means 200m front crawl or breaststroke, and you can handle cold. Platform and ladders only. No diving, no jumping — they flag shallow water. Cuts covered. No alcohol, drugs, fires, music, smoking. Swimwear on. Eco shower products they supply; strip the sunscreen and oils before you arrive. Buoyancy aids and a canoe on site. Emergency numbers in the confirmation and on the bank.

Sauna can go above 85°C. Up to 15 minutes a round, cool off between. Sit on a towel. No jewellery, no metal bottles, wooden handle on the glass door, fresh water on the stones not lake water. Winter: they mention ice. Neoprene is your call. Limited changing — many people arrive already in kit. Warm layers for the walk back.

Worth knowing

No lifeguard. That is in the terms, not a rumour. Club terms: no dogs except registered assistance dogs. Rewild Things: supervised dogs and children may sit on the bank, facilities 18+. If you are bringing a dog, get it in writing.

If you want a Somerset quarry with RLSS and a 750m loop, Vobster is the other South West pin — members most days, Tuesday non-members in season. This is the Elmore oak lake: induction, no solo swims, heat in a Danish box, and a published price that was not on the site in August 2026.
